Accessibility
How we try to make this website usable for everyone, what we have tested, and how to tell us when we get it wrong.
Our aim
In The Core Athlete aims to meet the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2 at Level AA. We believe most of this website currently meets that standard.
This page is a record rather than a badge. It says what we have tested, what we have fixed, and where we know we have not finished. If any part of this site stops you doing something — booking a class, reading a page, filling in a form — we want to hear about it, and we will help you do it another way in the meantime.
What we have tested
The whole site was reviewed on 8 September 2026 — every page, not a sample.
- Colour and contrast. Every piece of text and every icon was measured against the background actually behind it, including text sitting over photographs. The site uses a fixed set of colours chosen so that text meets or exceeds the required contrast on both light and dark sections.
- Using the site without a mouse. Every page begins with a “Skip to content” link. Every control can be reached with the Tab key, the item you are on is always visibly outlined, and nothing is hidden behind the header when it takes focus. The navigation menu opens with Enter, moves through with Tab, and closes with Escape.
- Screen readers and page structure. Each page has one main heading and a heading order with no gaps, standard page landmarks, and images that carry a written description of what they show. Every form field is properly labelled.
- Movement. Nothing on the site moves on its own without a way to stop it. The video on the home page has a pause button, and the photographs on the testimonials page only advance when you ask them to.
Where we know we fall short
We would rather say this plainly than claim more than we have checked.
- We have not yet finished reviewing the site on phones and tablets, or at high browser zoom. That work is under way.
- Booking a class, signing the waiver and paying all run on software made by other companies — Acuity Scheduling, WaiverForever and Stripe. We have not tested those services and we cannot change how they work. If any of them is a barrier for you, please use one of the routes below and we will handle it for you directly.
You never have to use this website to train with us
We can book classes, take payment and go through the waiver with you over the phone or in person.

Telling us about a problem
Please do. It is the fastest way for us to find the things we have missed.
Email ryan@traininthecore.com, or aaron@traininthecore.com if you would rather, or call 970-443-0590.
It helps if you can tell us which page you were on, what you were trying to do, and what got in the way — and, if you know it, the browser or assistive technology you were using. You do not need any of that to get in touch.
We aim to reply within two business days, and to tell you either what we have fixed or when we expect to.
How we test
We use automated checks and hands-on testing together: measuring colour contrast against what is actually drawn on screen rather than what the design intended, operating every page with the keyboard alone, and reading each page’s structure the way a screen reader would. Where an automated check and a hands-on check disagreed, we trusted the hands-on one.
