Who we work with

Some things sit outside a coach’s scope. When they do, we point you to people we trust — and in one case, our methodology travels with them.

History

In The Core is a premier sports performance and fitness training company for the champion in every athlete. We specialize in taking good sports players and training them to become elite athletes. Focused on enhancing the athlete’s overall athletic and mental ability, we help develop all the elements required for success in any sport.

Frequently asked questions

In The Core is a sports performance gym that specializes in producing elite athletes. Our unique training methodology focuses on all the areas needed to be a great athlete both physically (strength, speed, power, etc.) and mentally (mindset, focus, character, etc.). We focus on a high caliber of training that includes both common training systems as well as our own unique systems that have proven themselves time and time again. We also aim to foster sport education and character development for every athlete. In this way, we hope to equip athletes not only for great performances but also to be leaders in life.

All ages 6 years old and up. In most cases, athletes join our group training in grade school. They love challenges and results. Many then move into our personalized elite training program by their 9th-grade year as they are serious about playing at the highest level they can and view college sports as a great goal. Once in college, our relationship continues as we continue to consult throughout the full year and train them whenever they are back in town for breaks.

In The Core offers personalized sports performance training, group and team sports performance training, 1-on-1 adult personal training, and three adult fitness classes: Adult Performance, Healthspan and HYROX.

We often encourage athletes to keep a journal that consists of assignments like a food log, goal setting and evaluation, “gold nugget” coaching tips, etc. Occasionally athletes in our personalized program will have at-home training assignments.

In short, our group training is once per week and mainly focused on general athletic development (form, movement quality, basic strength, some speed, power, and conditioning base), especially for younger age groups. Our team training is also once per week and takes the demands of the team’s sport as the highest priority for training direction. The personalized program is 1-2x per week and takes into account the athlete’s individual needs through the lens of the sport(s) they compete in.

Our desire is to develop whole-brained athletes optimizing the cross-hemispherical connections of the brain. Thus, decision-making games and drills begin every session. Throughout the sessions, we emphasize stability, movement form, speed, power, strength, and other essentials of elite athletes. Through this flow of training, we specify the drills and workouts to their sport and their individual needs.

Typically, the personalized program is 1-2 sessions per week which are crafted for his or her sport(s) and individual areas of need. During sports seasons we do not stop—we continue to train and improve while shifting frequency, load, and demand based on the competition schedule. In-season training is imperative to keeping high-performing athletes improving, and healthy, as well as recovering and performing optimally.

We are intentional about teaching them the different “seasons” of being an athlete. The goal of the individual program is to move them into and through their high school years playing at the highest level they can so that if they desire to play in college, they are ready to grab ahold of that opportunity.

Cancel or reschedule any time right up to the session or class start time — there’s no charge and no late fee. If you don’t cancel and don’t attend, the session is charged in full, or on a package the credit is used. Special considerations for injury, vacation and similar circumstances are considered on request.

Sessions for the personalized sports performance program are Monday through Thursday 2:30 – 8:00 and Friday 2:30–6:30 . To set up or join a group please contact Aaron directly, openings are every day, and times may vary.

Here at ITC, we educate athletes on the importance of different lifestyle choices on recovery and performance. This pyramid of recovery concepts provides an overview for how we teach athletes about recovery and how significantly it can affect their performance.

Recovery pyramid with sleep as the base, then nutrition, stress management and training volume, and recovery modalities at the top — the tools nearest the base matter most.

Geno's Story

My son Dante has been training at In The Core since 2019 and my daughter Ava has been training there since 2023.  They are both year-round athletes that put a lot of stress demand on their bodies through their respective sports and consequently they put stress on their minds through school, sports, social life, etc.  With that said, when we found ITC we were drawn to not only the physical athletic training but also the mind/brain work and encompassing everything all into one.  Simply put, training the full body not only for competition but also the life of a teenage student-athlete and the preparation into adulthood.  There are many options in the market if you’re looking to just get bigger, faster, stronger but if you are like us, and you were looking for more than that, ITC is the place to come.

The coaching and training aspect of ITC is impeccable.  The details and focus of every session will ensure your athlete has an incredible workout that is tailored to them individually every time they visit.  The brain work and the messages they learn through the training has my kids walk out of ITC sessions a completely different person.  They are more upbeat, energetic, and motivated even though they just performed an intense work out for 45-90 minutes.

As a former athlete, it is very evident to see the physical results in their training.  As a parent, I see my children’s growth in their mindset and maturity.  I see them thinking about their futures in ways they never did before, I see their motivation in helping and be a part of the solution, and I see them wanting to serve something higher than themselves.  For me and my family, this means being a complete athlete which is what they receive from the team at ITC.

ITC has been a huge blessing for our whole family.  The lifelong friendships and relationships that we have developed and the tools that our children have received are priceless.  We are forever grateful and forever ITC!
